Reflection & Symbolism

Today is an important day.
Today I have two reasons to celebrate.
FIRST and foremost to the Savior who has
given me eternal and everlasting life.
SECOND to the woman who gave me mortal life.
Happy Birthday Mom. Here's to another 49 years.
OOPs, I mean 29. :)

Today is not about the Bunny, It's about the Lamb.

A Big Kick - for all you female swooners

I got the biggest kick outta this. Mostly, because it's just about all true. Sometimes, MSN does the stupidest stuff {along these lines}
but this one was blog worthy. We all wish we could have dreamy husbands (or significant others - just like this.)
Check it out HERE.

Dedicated to Creativity

Check THIS out.
{It's a looong video [abt an hour] so make some time!}
James C. Christensen is another one of my hero's.
He's dedicated to creativity, his family, and foremost his faith.
I may never amount to anything in my life, but I want to have an
impact like this man has.

Dear Paigie & Kirsten-

Congrats to one of my besties Paige and her hubby Jord.
Rowan Paige Staples was born on April 1st.
{Read the amazing story here.}
Yes folks, April 1st.
The Staples joined the April 1st Club.
It has an elite group of
marvelous people.
{if I do say so myself}

I love you Paigie. I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for your example.

My thoughts have turned to motherhood lately. I think because of Conference. I've been doing a lot of soul searching, future planning, etc, etc. THEN, low and behold, here I am typing my saved & drafted post and Kirsten pops up with a new post {love her blog} about her little Brookelyn.

One day.... One day..
Just not my turn yet.

Faith Hill

ok. so, today is rainy. spring rain in utah is beautiful. Here's some examples. I couldn't
resist.

I started thinking about Red Umbrella
"It's gonna be ok. So, let it rain!"

Here's her video when she sang on GMA.

And I just have to say a few things about Faith Hill. She has a career. She has kids. She believes in God. She's STAYED married to her husband {who is darn attractive if I DO say so myself.} And done ALL of that in the lime light. It CAN be done people. I think she's an amazing person.
Now for some hot chocolate in April. Yummm....

The Outlet

This one's for me. The thoughts in my head need letting go...

i miss you.
especially today.
you didn't love me enough.
you don't need me.
Most times, i just want to cry.

I try to move on.
The pull I still feel hasn't gone away.
Suppose I should give it more time....
more time....
more time....

NOW! Time for HAPPIER THOUGHTS

New wards.
New SINGLES wards.
Just like the movie.
First testimony meeting.
SO awkward.
SO funny.
everyone sorta apprehensive.
kinda on your toes.
eyeballs constantly moving.
What's next?

Growing Up

Part of growing up is knowing and taking responsibility for one's finances.
I have therefore decided (after a chat with my good friend Maddi) that I want to
learn how to invest. I want to start investing.

All you bloggers out there with fountains of knowledge....I need help! Teach me Master Jedi Knights. I am but a simple Padawon learner.

Joking aside...I have a future to think about here folks. Help me out!

Driving & Moving

Oh man! Interesting how something always starts to look up...and I have to move. (This has happened MULTIPLE times in my life now over the last few years.) Thanks to Rachel Gaines for her collection of music made JUST for me. Today, your gift really paid off. 4 hours of driving time gives a person a lot of time to think, reflect, and even pray.

Mixed Emotions & Announcements

Tonight, I sit alone in my empty apartment. End of Winter Semester and everyone is done and gone. I'm exhausted. I've locked and checked 50 some odd apartments today. I said goodbye to one of my best friends in this world. I'm not even sure the next time I'll get to see her. I'm excited for my brother to come home next month. I miss the other one. Like crazy. I'm leaving my social life behind in Rexburg. I'll miss people that are here. I need direction in my life. I have no money to my name. I don't have a job.

WHAT DOES A GIRL DO with herself?!

AND .... I officially announce that I am saying GOODBYE to the INTERIOR DESIGN DEPARTMENT. I'm not sure where life will lead me. To ALL my friends I've made there - I don't believe in goodbyes. I love you all.

Dear Jiffy - Announcing the Grand 1st Edition

This will be Jessica's version of Dear Abby - You as my reader - are Abby. I"m naming it after my nick-named brother Jeffrey (who is currently serving an LDS mission in the Everett Washington mission.

Tonight marks the Grand 1st Edition:
Dear Jiffy -

Finals are over. I'm working for the next few days and moving home to Utah.
Michael has just under 60 days to come home. I'm looking forward to that.
But, I'm missing you. I can't text you something funny in the middle of the
day. I don't get teased at night on the phone. I don't have you around to
simply listen to me. You always do. I can't tell you how the day has gone.
These posts will be dedicated to you in my attempt at emotional therapy.
What should one do as an emotional outlet?

Seasons

The seasons are supposed to show themselves in the following fashion: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring.
Well - in Rexburg....it's a little different.
Sum, Fa...Winter, WINTER, winter, Spri...winter, Spring.
It's absolutely RE. DI. CU. LOUS!

Tonight I decided to take a break from my last final projects and wanted to go borrow a movie from my friend. My Heaven Sent: Staci went with me. It was snowing outside (Yes, it IS April 6th) but we wanted to walk and stretch our legs. We figured eh...it's not too bad of a walk. 10 minutes later....we got home.

Hippity Hop - Easter's On Its Way

The Easter Bunny came early to our apartment. I don't know what happened, he just left surprises for all the roommates. The EB LOVES leaving fluffy and sweet tasting surprises for the people he loves. And, he gets SUCH a kick out of it. It makes you, I mean HIM...uh...HIM feel so so good to surprise someone.

Wow! What a Weekend!

Birthday celebration{24. I mean ~ twen.ty. four. here. folks!}, Visit from Mom, Spiritual Feast from Conference talks?! What more could a girl ask for?!

Mom got here on Thursday night. We grabbed the Wendy's food, messing up the drive thru and invited Staci {Taylor} to join us at the hotel. It was so nice, and I mean REALLY nice to have so much QUIETNESS to study and do finals.
We got up Friday morning to Continental Breakfast. {It was vacation in Rexburg - who woulda THOUGHT?!} Then to drop Staci off at home and Mom spent the afternoon following me around campus and all over Rexburg getting supplies to finish my Lighting Final {I made a binder.} She cut, glued, copied, hugged and met so many good people in the ID Department - including Sis. Harris and Bro. McRae. My good friend Colleen Richards spoiled me with chocolates, pink yummy smelling roses, and a singing Cinderella bday card {does she know me or WHAT?!} Mom and I grabbed Costa Vida - during which my friend Jason came to visit at the hotel lobby bringing CHEESECAKE and TANGLED. Great way to end the day. {Mom and I were up until 2 AM watching it!}
Saturday meant Conference. Continental breakfast #2 and a nice big comfy hotel bed to be spiritually fed. I typed like craaaaazy. Second Session we invited Amie {Evert} to join us and I typed some more. Next came OLIVE GARDEN! I was pleasantly filled with soup, salad and bread sticks. Nothing ever tasted so good as a combination of Minestrone soup, garlic bread sticks and og house dressing. YES PLEASE! After dropping Amie off at home, Mom and I donned the swim suits for some much needed hot tub time. A hot bath rinse off afterward made me VEEERY sleepy {due to full and happy stomach PLUS being warm.} The next adventure was 'Hello Dolly'. I'm a fan of Barbra Streisand. Didn't think I would be. It's probably the first time I've ever watched a musical and NOT been impressed. My attention span became very short. I began making fun of a few things and Mom and I were rolling. ROTFL. Next came Sabrina, the remake....yep! gotta fit some Harrison Ford in there somewhere. I fell asleep to Mama playing with my hair. happy girl :)
Sunday AM, I got a little depressed knowing Mom had to go home. We got up in order to get breakfast before the masses. Watched AM session until it was time to check out. Mom drove me to my apartment where we packed a few things for her to take home for me. I fed her cheesecake, got her settled in the car and off she went. Sunday PM session I spent alone, again, in the quiet...very nice. Watching Tangled again afterward.
Now, do you understand why I say...WOW?!
